SAP Business One Overview 2025: New web client enhancements & Version 11 update

Speaking in his annual review, Rainer Zinow, Senior Vice President, Head of SAP Midmarket Product Management, said that SAP Business One was “stronger than ever” and dismissed any speculation around the solution’s future as “complete nonsense”.

There are now more than 1.2m users who use SAP Business One to manage and automate critical business tasks with the solution used in more than 170 countries globally.

In his video , Rainer reiterated SAP’s commitment to invest and develop the solution. He referenced Thomas Saueressig, Executive Board Member at SAP, who said: “We’re investing in the future and security of SAP Business One, enhancing its integration with the SAP Business Technology Platform to simplify development, and we’re expanding the capabilities of its web client".

“The innovations ensure that SAP Business One continues to grow and adapt to the evolving needs of small businesses.”

Web Client Enhancements

One of the key deliverables in 2024 from SAP was the development of the UI API Framework for the Web Client. This enabled SAP Partners to enable existing enhancements or popular third-party add-ons of the desktop version to the B1 Web Client.

SAP plans to add a number of new features to the web client in 2025 to extend functional scope to cover end-to-end business scenarios. There’s also extended analytics and additional reporting content planned for release.
“My hope is that by the end of 2025, SAP Business One partners can do all of their customer-facing presentations in the web client exclusively. Then, the customer fully operates Business One through the browser, and the partner is in charge of managing all the infrastructure, all the software, and we have a really attractive subscription billing (model). This is then the great cloud solution I really wanted to have for the years to come,” said Rainer.

Version 11 Update

SAP is targeting a similar release schedule for SAP Business One feature packs with new functionality planned in Q1 and Q3 of 2025. Support packs are also expected within similar timeframes.

All of the new features planned for the web client are now expected to have been developed and released by Q1 2026.
“We have started gathering feedback about what should be in SAP Business One Version 11” said Rainer. “We have a really long perspective that we are planning for SAP Business One, and I’m really grateful for all of the support from customers that we are receiving.”
